Chef Henry Cortez, Jr.

Chef Henry has over 15 years in the restaurant business. After honing his skills in Southern Oregon, he moved to San Francisco to work as Chef of the now-shuttered Kyoto Sushi on VanNess Avenue. After four years of Japanese cuisine, Henry returned to southern Oregon to get back to roots. In 2011, Henry returned to the Bay Area and worked as chef de Partie at El Paseo in Mill Valley under chef Preston Clark and chef Tyler Florence. Henry moved up the ranks and after four years took over the helm as executive chef of El Paseo. Henry is currently managing the butcher department at The Mill Valley Market.
